Deacon grew up a normal happy child near Paris, France, Terra during the most turbulent years of the Federation’s recent history. He quickly volunteered for the academy, despite his father’s wishes. He lettered in Sciences and graduated near the top of his class.
His one-year cadet cruise changed his life forever. While on routine patrol near the Neutral Zone, Deacon (as science officer) spotted an anomaly that turned out to be a Bird of Prey. Deacon managed to raise the shields, but not before the first shot shook the ship hard, killing his fiancée. Turning down a hardship discharge, Deacon threw himself into command studies.
His first tour was aboard the USS Constitution, where he began learning the ins and outs of commanding a starship. He found peace for a short time, as a diplomatic envoy to Vulcan, where he regularly attended and gave lectures at the vaunted Vulcan Science Academy. He returned to his first love, galaxy exploration, for his next tour assuming command of the science department and eventually becoming executive officer.
He was somewhat surprised at his promotion to Commanding Officer of the newly refitted Vega, but looks forward to discovering new things.
Personality & Appearance
Deacon is 1.8 meters tall and 86 kg with brown hair and eyes; when
not in uniform, he favors the tunic of a VSA instructor. He tends to stare into space when
not focussed on a specific task. He enjoys spending his free time in the laboratory
sections of the ship when not on the bridge.

Traumatic Flashbacks: Whenever a person with this disad rolls a ‘1’ and is
under the effect of the ‘trigger’, then this is treated as a Phobia. This disad is worth -2
to -4 depending on the commonality of the ‘trigger’.
