Background Notes
Valer IV is a combined Federation/Harelian colony with a sizable number of Vulcans. Sormok was once Colonial Administrator of Valer IV, but rising concern about the Romulans has seen his support fall. The Vulcans are convinced that the colonists are incapable of dealing with the Romulan threat, and must place their faith in Starfleet. The humans of the colony are unsure whether or not anything can be done to resist the Romulans, but have recently been more influenced by those colonists convinced that a militia should be formed. The Harelians are certainly in favor of a militia. Now Sormok is a private citizen. If approached by Starfleet personnel, he will endeavor to provide as much information as possible on Valer IV and the Neutral Zone. He is a valuable source of information. He knows and has worked with Torel, the Trade Legate.
