Description and Notes
Fleet data: When the Keldon-class was introduced in "The Die is Cast," and appeared once more in "Defiant," improved by the Obsidian Order.  The version presented here is the improved Obsidian Order design.  It was stated that this particular version of the class was more powerful and faster than the regular Keldon-class.  If you desire the regular version of the Keldon-class battlecruiser, reduce the power level to 180, impulse to .5c/.6c, replace the energy torpedoes with plasma banks and reduce shields to 60/80.

Noteworthy vessels / service records / encounters: Keldon, prototype.

Author's Notes
While to my knowledge I do not recall Cardassian vessels ever carrying torpedoes, it has never been denied and I have a difficult time accepting they would not develop a weapon with far greater range then your standard energy weapon, hence the torpedoes.  The low quantity that they keep in storage may account for why their torpedoes are rarely used.

I treat this vessel in a similar manner to a Klingon Vor'cha-class or Negh'var-class ship; while built for war, they are rarely seen on the front lines unless a major fleet engagement is under way.  In my current campaign there are only a handful of the improved version in service with about three times that many regular Keldon-class vessels.

I realize this design is particularly powerful and places it on par with the Romulan Warbird.  Please keep in mind that these ships are very rare and are intended to be rarely seen.
