Description and Notes
The type II Constitution-class began as a simple refit of the U.S.S. Enterprise and turned into a major rebuild that led to a ship superior to anything known at the time. By installing Type VII phasers (run through the warp system for additional power) and Type II photon torpedoes, along with an improved shield grid, the Enterprise took its place as one of the most powerful ships in space. The addition of a vastly improved sensor system, a state- of- the- art computer system, and more advanced laboratories combined to make this class an excellent exploratory vessel as well.

Noteworthy vessels / service records / encounters: U.S.S. Enterprise, destroyed by self destruct at the Genesis planet (2285), see extensive documentation; U.S.S. Enterprise-A, see extensive documentation; U.S.S. Exeter NCC-1706, refit in 2273; U.S.S. Eagle NCC-956, refit in 2273, U.S.S. Challenger NCC-2032; U.S.S Yamato NCC-1305-A; U.S.S. Endeavor NCC-1895, refit in 2274; U.S.S. Yorktown NCC-1717, refit in 2274; U.S.S. Excalibur NCC-1705, refit in 2275; U.S.S. Lexington NCC-1709, refit in 2274; U.S.S. Kongo NCC-1710, refit in 2275; U.S.S. Valiant NCC-1708, refit in 2275.

Designer's Notes
I pieced this design together using stats for the Type I Constitution-class from the Star Trek Roleplaying Game Core Book (original series), upgrading it with technology that would have appeared at that time on the Miranda and Excelsior classes.
