Description and Notes
Fleet data:
The
Ptolemy- class tug utilizes a number of towable pods, which hook onto the
saucer ventrally, between the two warp nacelles. The MK-IV Starliner is the most complex, but the following
basic stats are typical of any given cargo pod:
Class and Type: Mark IV Starliner
Hull Characteristics
Size: 2 (200 meters long, 12 decks)
Resistance: 2
Structural Points: 40
Operational Characteristics
Crew/Passengers: 165/500/1000

Transporters: 6 personnel/2 cargo

Editor's Notes
Just
because the
Starfleet Technical Manual
lists this vessel as shorter than the Saladin- and Hermes-class
ships (obviously because the nacelles are placed a little farther forward in the
Ptolemy-class), I don't think it should be of smaller Size than them.
If anything, it should have a greater Size due to its second warp nacelle.
In addition, I feel the Ptolemy-class should have a higher Power rating,
in the neighborhood of that of a Constitution-class ship (135); it has
two (presumably identical) nacelles and would likely need a good bit of power to
tow large pods with. Perhaps the Weapons Skill should only be a 3; I doubt
there are many crack shots on board Starfleet tugs. Likewise, consider
dropping the pod's Sensors skill a little.
