After declaring their freedom, the peaceful people of Renium III turned to
military training. Weak in physical hand to hand combat, Reniums have looked to
the technological advantages of disruptor technology. Intellect on technology is
high, and their ability to adapt to new technology is amazing.
Special or Unique Skills
Art and religion rule the lives of Renium. Renium art is the most valuable
and unique art of the Nebula Arrow Galaxy.
Renium worship of "The Goddess" is the most important part of their religion. Their belief is that she has created them to serve and is all that is not Renium. The only race in the Plasma Sector to have developed and mastered the use of plasma rifles. (Plasma rifles will never be available to Federation officers due to Federation laws.)
Size
Reniums are about half the height of humans with huge heads and arms longer than
their torsos.
Traits Common to The Species
All Reniums have yellow eyes and excellent chemo-receptors for smell.
Their yellow eyes give them superior Night Vision (+3) and yellow blood due to
the high iodine it contains.

Description
Reniums have yellow eyes and blood due the high levels of iodine in their body.
Reniums have heads about one and a half times the size of a human and arms that
reach to their knees. Reniums also have a yellow colored skin due to the high
iodine content of the atmosphere. Their internal organs are basically identical
to those of humans, from their stomachs to their
reproductive systems.
Reniums pull their religion of worship of "The Goddess" into their art. Renium Opera is often a depressing spectacle and can drive non-Reniums to suicide. Their sculptures, however, are commonly made to represent "The Goddess" or Priests performing rituals.
Renium foods are of the best quality of the Plasma Sector. Their traditional Pluth Na Gath is a delicious dish of Gath worms cooked in Pluth wine. Pluth wine is made from the blood of the Na, a vicious animal of Renium planets. This dish is commonly served the worship month of The Birth Of The Goddess with Naghta wine.
The religion centers on the beliefs that the Sun and Nebula conceived The Goddess who then created the Universe.
The military rose as a means of protection for the people after rebelling against the Old Regime and overthrowing the Malcaras that enslaved the Renium people. After stealing warp technology and creating the powerful plasma rifles, the Reniums declared their independence and fought to expand their empire while freeing enslaved peoples within their territory.
